Pendragon Brief case (for sale)

I have been looking for one of these case for a few years. I found this one on an auction site at a price I was happy with. I wonder if the thread on the handle may have been red originally. This is the inside with the writing pad in place the two strips down the sides are there to hold the blotting paper in place. The brass ware has tarnished and needs a few hours of tlc to bring it back. ICI document case (for sale)

Sometime ago I bought a document style case from an auction site the inside is embossed with the ICI ltd logo it was in good condition although the stitching was in need of replacement any pressure would cause it to snap. This is a good quality case and very well made things that show high quality are the inverted “V” on the securing straps and the hand made handle where multiple layers of leather are used to form the handle. Having removed all of the old stitching I started to clean everything inside and out with warm water and saddle soap … Continue reading ICI document case (for sale)

Document case number two (sold)

This is my second Pendragon document case they are made from very high quality leather although the stitching only seems to last for around 50 years. This case had been repaired in the past with some thread normally used in shoe repairs. This is the heavier white coloured thread that can be seen along the bottom and at the corners. My original plan for this case was to add it to my collection however there is another project that I wish to make and to do that I must clear some space so I have decided to sell this case … Continue reading Document case number two (sold)

Pendragon case restoration

This case is one I picked up on an auction site. It was made by a company using the trade name Pendragon. It is a high quality leather case and I believe the case is over 45 years of age, I knew when I purchased the case that the stitching would need to be replaced As you can see from the pictures the leather was in pretty good condition. Once all of the stitching was removed and I had all of the pieces separated I could see that the gusset piece was very badly worn. I fact it fell apart … Continue reading Pendragon case restoration
