Mini pen case

Sometimes I make things because I am asked and sometimes I just make them to see if I can.

This project had two starting points this was the first one

I had skived (thinned down)the joining edges to reduce the thickness of the overlap. and stitched through both pieces.

I did not really like this look so I started over here is mk 2

Sorry about the poor quality picture I formed this one around a cardboard tube. this time I was planning on a butt joint with some hidden stitching.

Just before stitching

Stitching in progress the crossover is on the inside so all you see is the two lines of thread

Prior to assembly I had mitred the edges of the top and bottom to allow the end pieces to fit. Like this.

I had also added an internal support for the pen holders

The pen holders were card wrapped in red suede

Another three were required

I also added a strip of leather lined in suede to the top of the pen slot support piece.

I also began to sew the top and bottom pieces in place
